About NewsBreakNigeria

What we do

NewsBreakNigeria publishes the Paper Roundup twice a day, every morning and evening. Each edition is a short report on the major Nigerian stories since the last one: what happened, how different newsrooms covered it, and why it matters.

We follow around sixteen Nigerian newsrooms, including Punch, Vanguard, ThisDay, Premium Times and Channels TV. We don't republish their articles. A roundup quotes short phrases from their headlines, and every quote links straight back to the newsroom that reported it.

How a roundup is made

Each roundup is built from the headlines and short summaries the newsrooms publish. Every quote is checked word for word against the headline or summary it cites, and any quote that doesn't match is dropped.

Opeyemi Aladebiyi edits every roundup by hand: correcting it, cutting what doesn't belong, and writing the editor's note at the top, which explains why the stories matter, how they connect and what to watch for next. A roundup is published only once it has been edited.

Who we are

NewsBreakNigeria is based in Lagos and edited by Opeyemi Aladebiyi.

Sourcing & corrections

We aim to describe every story accurately, based on what the newsrooms actually reported. If we've got something wrong, such as a misdescribed story or a quote credited to the wrong outlet, tell us at info@newsbreaknigeria.com and we'll fix it.
