It’s unfair to compare us to Barca – Real Madrid’s Mourinho
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said it was unfair to compare his side to Spanish champions Barcelona ahead of Sunday's La Liga Clasico. The post It’s unfair to compare us to Barca – Real Madrid’s Mourinho appeared…
Real Madrid and Barcelona's Clasico is one of football's fiercest rivalries, with the two Spanish giants routinely measured against each other regardless of current form. Jose Mourinho, a former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Manchester United manager known for combative press conferences, took charge at the Bernabeu this past summer after Madrid endured a trophy drought, while Barcelona, under Hansi Flick, enter the fixture as back-to-back league champions and league leaders unbeaten so far this season.
The remarks underscore the gulf in recent results between the two clubs heading into their latest meeting, with Mourinho appearing to push back against expectations that his rebuilding side should be judged by the same standards as a Barcelona team in red-hot form. Neither report details further comments from Mourinho on tactics or team news for the match.
