Lionel Messi spent the majority of his career at Barcelona, joining the club's famed La Masia academy as a boy before breaking into the first team and going on to become the club's all-time leading scorer. During his two decades at Camp Nou, he won a host of domestic and continental honours, including multiple La Liga titles and Champions League trophies, and claimed several Ballon d'Or awards as the sport's top individual prize, before his emotional departure from the club in 2021 amid its well-documented financial difficulties.
Messi's reflections, coming years after he left for Paris Saint-Germain and later Inter Miami, add to a string of recent comments in which the Argentine has looked back on his Barcelona years with nostalgia. Neither report specifies the exact interview or platform where Messi made the comments, nor whether he elaborated further on specific matches or trophies.
