The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called for a major shift in Nigeria’s approach to governance as the country marks its 66th Independence anniversary. The party argued that Nigeria’s challenges require political leaders to move beyond rhetoric and focus on effective leadership, accountability, economic development and policies that improve citizens’ living conditions.
The SDP also stressed the need for Nigerians to rethink the country’s direction and demand greater responsibility from those in government. Its message comes amid wider Independence Day discussions about Nigeria’s unused economic potential, governance challenges and the need for structural and institutional reforms.
